Stefan Maria Schneider

Stefan Maria Schneider (born December 28, 1980 in Uerdingen ) is a German film composer , musician and producer .

Career

Schneider studied composition / media music at the “Hanns Eisler” music academy in Berlin from 2001 to 2008 , composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna from 2002 to 2004 and film music at the “Konrad Wolf” film school in Potsdam from 2004 to 2008 . Babelsberg. He completed his studies there in 2008 as a "diploma film composer".

Among other things, Schneider wrote the music for Franka Potente's directorial debut The Belladonna Digs Up and for the animated film Our Wonderful Nature , which was nominated for the Student Academy Awards in 2009.

In June 2009 Schneider was nominated for the film music for Our Wonderful Nature for the Jerry Goldsmith Prize of the International Film Music Conference Úbeda and received it in the category “Best Music for a Short Film / Animation”.

Since September 2009 he has been working for the British film music composer John Powell , on whose score for the Dreamworks animation film How To Train Your Dragon he worked as an orchestrator in early 2010.

At the end of 2011 he composed the music for the first crowdfunded German feature film, Hotel Desire . Since 2013 he has been working as a composer for the TV series Ritter Rost and Der kleine Drache Kokosnuss .

Stefan Maria Schneider lives and works in Weimar and Berlin.
