Stefan Sell (born July 3, 1964 in Eutin ) is a German social scientist . He is professor of economics , social policy and social sciences at the RheinAhrCampus Remagen of the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences and is considered an "expert in labor market issues".

Life

Stefan Sell completed training as a nurse at the nursing school of the Bad Segeberg district hospital from 1981 to 1983 . From 1983 to 1986 he attended the upper level of the municipal comprehensive school in Essen , thus completing his Abitur on the so-called second educational path . From 1986 to 1988 he did his community service in a child and youth center in Gladbeck . From 1988 to 1991 he studied social science at the Ruhr University in Bochum , which he graduated with a diploma. Sell ​​was a scholarship holder of the Evangelisches Studienwerk .

He then worked in the State Labor Office in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1992 , was a consultant for labor market policy in the Federal Chancellery in Bonn in 1993 and head of the Labor Office in Tübingen in 1994 . From 1995 to 1996 Sell was a consultant for fundamental questions of labor market policy and job placement at the Baden-Württemberg State Employment Office in Stuttgart . In 1995 he received his doctorate from the Faculty of Social Science at the Ruhr University Bochum with a thesis on the history of regional development in Germany since the 1920s.

From 1996 to 1999 he was Professor of Economics and Labor Market Policy at the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Mannheim . In March 1999 Sell came to the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences (FH Koblenz), which was founded in 1996 , where he is still active today. Among other things, he built up the business administration diploma course in health and social economy in the field of business and social economy , which he also headed until 2002. Until 2005 he was deputy head of the development committee of the further location of the FH Koblenz in Remagen . Until 2006 he took over the establishment, development and management of the part-time distance learning course in education and social management with a focus on early childhood for the management staff of day-care centers ( Bachelor of Arts ).

He is the founding chairman of the day care center for the RheinAhrCampus of the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences. V. , who has been running a day care center on the RheinAhrCampus in Remagen since 2004 .

Today Sell has a professorship for economics , social policy and social sciences at the RheinAhrCampus of the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences in Remagen in the Faculty of Business and Social Economics and is director of the Institute for Social Policy and Labor Market Research (ISAM; until December 31, 2015: Institute for Education and Social Policy , IBUS ) from the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences. In addition to his teaching activities, he participates in the social discourse on social and labor market issues through numerous publications (see publications) and lectures and is a frequent interviewee of the press , radio and television .

On April 22, 2016, he was awarded the “Regine Hildebrandt Prize 2016” for his socio-political commitment.

Stefan Sell is married and has three children. He lives with his family in Remagen.
