Steffen Brinkmann
Steffen Brinkmann (born July 28, 1994 in Herzberg am Harz ) is a German composer of digital film music .
Life
Steffen Brinkmann was born in 1994 in Herzberg am Harz as the son of a pastor . After graduating from the Tilman-Riemenschneider-Gymnasium in Osterode am Harz , Brinkmann received composition lessons from Raphael D. Thöne at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media . He then studied audiovisual media in Stuttgart .
He wrote his first pieces in 2010 for various independent films . In 2012 the short film was hypocritical! excellent, for whom he had composed the music. Furthermore, the thriller prospectless (Hopeless) and the short film Falsch were nominated for the Camgaroo Award in 2012 , and he wrote the music for these films as well.
Since Brinkmann composes for films that have to get by on a small budget and cannot afford a symphony orchestra for the background music, the orchestral music is simulated digitally.
In February 2016 was in Goslar its Rhapsody No. 1 - "Bergmannsrhapsody" premiered with the symphony orchestra of the TU Clausthal . This work was commissioned by the Musikgemeinde Osterode am Harz for the Clausthal University of Technology . In his first rhapsody, Brinkmann processed the two classic miner's songs , Glück Auf! The climber comes and luck comes up ! Your miners young and old .
In August 2016, the music composed for the short film The Sands of Summers Past was recorded by the renowned Budapest Art Orchestra in Hungary .
The Symphony Orchestra of the TU Clausthal gave its semester-end concert in 2018 with the world premiere of Brinkmann's symphonic poem “Die Burg” . The composition in six movements deals with the idea of standing in the ruins of an old castle and the stories that people experienced during the heyday of this castle.
Steffen Brinkmann is currently studying film music at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg .
