course
The Steinbach rises in the Odenwald near the Reichelsheim district of Bockenrod . Its source is in the Reichenberger Hang forest near the Schlagbaum forest village on the south-western slope of the Morsberg ( 516.7 m above sea level ) at an altitude of about 415 m .
The Steinbach flows approximately in a westerly direction and reaches the outskirts of Bockenrod after about 2 km. It is piped in parts and reappears to the west of federal highway 38 (in town: Siegfriedstraße ).
Shortly afterwards the Steinbach flows into the Neuhausstraße, which serves as the access to the Bockenröder Mühle , directly below the flood retention basin Reichelsheim-Bockenrod at about 199 m above sea level in the Gersprenz .
