The Kleine Teichelberg is a sedimentary elevation approx. 2 km southwest of the Großer Teichelberg , north of Fuchsmühl in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth and belongs to the stone forest in the Fichtel Mountains . The maps show the heavily ferrous basalt dome Steinknock (708 m above sea level ) as the highest point. The area is densely forested and slopes down to the south. State road 2170 runs in the west from Waldershof to Fuchsmühl.

There is a large basalt eruption area between Marktredwitz , Friedenfels , Konnersreuth and Seußen . It is the westernmost branch of the North Bohemian basalt volcanism. In the Miocene , liquid basalt mass came up through the granite .
