The Stena Carrier and its identical sister ship , the Stena Freighter , are RoRo ferries operated by the Swedish shipping company Stena RoRo . Until 2010, however, they were not used by Stena RoRo, but by Stena Line on the route between Travemünde and Gothenburg . On the other hand, their almost identical sister ships have always been used or chartered out by Stena RoRo, for example to Transfennica . The Stena Freighters and Stena Carriers have also been used by Stena RoRo since 2010 .

The Travemünde - Gothenburg connection was discontinued in September 2010, as two larger ships have been in service on the Kiel - Gothenburg route since September 2010 and April 2011, making the Travemünde - Gothenburg route unprofitable. After the new Stena Germanica went into operation on September 2, 2010 , the Stena Freighter was deployed parallel to the Stena Scandinavica on the Kiel - Gothenburg route to ensure the same daily transport capacity in both directions. After the new Stena Scandinavica went into operation on April 20, the Stena Freighter was withdrawn from the route. In 2018 she was sold to Mexico and renamed Mexico Star . She left Setubal on October 2, 2018 for Mexico.
