Stephan Bauer (football player)

Stephan Bauer (born September 3, 1974 ) is a former German football player .

career

As a teenager, Bauer played for the Bad Homburg Falcons , and from 1993 he was quarterback for the Bad Homburg men's team in the Bundesliga.

In 1999 and 2001 the kicker was under contract with Frankfurt Galaxy in the NFL Europe . At the end of June 1999, he and the team won the World Bowl with a 38:24 over the Barcelona Dragons in the Düsseldorf Rheinstadion . In the Bundesliga he also played for the Aschaffenburg Stallions , the Rüsselsheim Razorbacks , the Hanau Hawks and in 2008 after a break of four years for the Marburg Mercenaries .

Bauer was a national player, with the German selection he won silver at the European championship in 2000 and then became European champion the following year.

He worked as a coach for the Hessian national team, in spring 2004 he joined the Wiesbaden Phantoms coaching staff .
