Stephan Lehmann (born August 15, 1963 in Schaffhausen ) is a former Swiss football player and today's goalkeeping coach .

Career

Lehmann's position as a player was goalkeeper . His active career began at home club FC Schaffhausen before playing in the 2nd Bundesliga through FC Winterthur at SC Freiburg . However, he was drawn back after only a year, where he still guarded the goal for Schaffhausen, for many years FC Sion and FC Luzern . In his years for FC Sion, he was Swiss champion twice and cup winner four times. As a national player for Switzerland, he took part in the World Cup finals in the USA in 1994 and the European Championship finals in England in 1996 .

As a goalkeeping coach, he began as an active player at his last club, FC Luzern. In the same year he was in charge of the Swiss U21 national team as a goalkeeping coach. He celebrated victory in the Swiss Cup with FC Wil in 2004 as a motivational speaker and goalkeeping coach under Joachim Müller . He celebrated another success as a coach together with head coach René van Eck and the promotion of FC Luzern in the Axpo Super League with a series of 31 games without defeat. Here he was released in September 2008.

Stephan Lehmann holds the A, B and C diploma from the Swiss Football Association and the goalkeeper coach level 1–3 from the Swiss Football Association.

Lehmann has completed an NLP coaching course and led the FIFA goalkeeping coaching course in Tunisia in May 2007, in Mauritius in September 2007 and in Dubai in May 2008. He is also a motivational speaker.

On December 28, 2008, the third division club FC Carl Zeiss Jena announced that Lehmann would be the club's goalkeeping coach on January 1, 2009 at the side of René van Eck. The coaching team and Carsten Linke were released on March 24, 2009.

From July 2009 to April 2012, Stephan Lehmann was again goalkeeping coach at FC Luzern.
