Stephan Zimmermann (* 1963 in Offenburg ) is a German jazz trumpeter and university lecturer.

Live and act

Stephan Zimmermann studied jazz trumpet at the Cologne University of Music with Manfred Schoof and Jon Eardley . After numerous concerts and productions in the Cologne area, he returned to Baden-Württemberg, where he was appointed professor for jazz trumpet and ensemble management at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim in 2007 . Before that, he worked as a trumpet lecturer at the Frankfurt and Mannheim Schools of Music and at the University of Mainz. In 2000 Zimmermann recorded his debut album Healing Forces , on which u. a. Jason Seizer , Thomas Stabenow and Rick Hollander contributed. Another two in-house productions followed with My Kind of People and Quiet Time. In the field of jazz, he was involved in more than 40 recording sessions between 1981 and 2014. a. with Bobby Burgess , Sunday Night Orchestra , Thilo Berg , hr-Bigband , United Jazz + Rock Ensemble 2nd Generation , Moser-Zimmermann Duo, and Ed Partyka .
