Dieter Zuchold (* 23. September 1937 in loop ; † 18 February 2014 in Leipzig ) was a track cyclist from the GDR .

Athletic career

Dieter Zuchold began cycling with BSG Lokomotive Cottbus , due to his success he switched to the SC Rotation Leipzig service center . In 1964 he was part of the cadre for the GDR national rail team. In DDR Course Championships he won a total of six Medaillen.1961 he finished third in the GDR championship in 1000-meter time trial and 1,966 East German champion stayer race behind pacemaker Fritz Erdenberger . In 1962 he was third in the team pursuit with the team from SC Rotation , 1963 and 1964 vice-champion with SC Leipzig . Zuchold was also successful as a road driver, so he won a. a. the Lausitz tour and twice the race around the Mulde valley .

Private

Dieter Zuchold was married to the five-time Olympic medalist in artistic gymnastics Erika Zuchold .
