Stephanie Baumann (born November 5, 1951 in Bern ; resident in Wileroltigen ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Stephanie Baumann attended commercial secondary school and later the arts and crafts school in Bern. She is married to Ruedi Baumann , also a Swiss politician and a member of the Greens . In 1975 they took over the Inselmatt farm in Suberg and in 1979 and 1980 the two sons Simon and Kilian were born.

politics

In 1986 Baumann was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern for the Social Democratic Party and in 1994 she moved to a vacant seat on the National Council . In the parliamentary elections in 1995 and 1999 Baumann was re-elected. She was a member of the Social Security and Health Commission and the Business Audit Commission from 1995 to 2003 . In addition to her position as National Councilor, Baumann was also the President of the Board of Directors of Bern's Inselspital .

In 2001 Stephanie and Ruedi Baumann emigrated to France, keeping their seats in the National Council until the end of the 2003 legislature. In France, they took over a farm and handed over the business in Suberg to their son Kilian.
