Stephen Brewer

Stephen Brauer (born September 25, 1970 in Crailsheim ) is a German teacher and politician ( FDP / DVP ). He has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg since August 1, 2018 .

Origin and education

Stephen Brauer first attended elementary school in the Onolzheim district , and later the Albert Schweitzer grammar school in his hometown. He passed the Abitur in 1990 at the Crailsheim Business School of the Commercial School.

Between 1990 and 1991 he completed his basic military service in the Kurmainz barracks in Tauberbischofsheim , before he began studying business education at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg from 1991 to 1996 and graduated as a business teacher. From 1997 to 1999 he completed a legal clerkship and successfully passed the second state examination . He then taught at the Theodor Heuss School in Reutlingen until 2003 . From 2006 to 2010 he was also a teacher at the district vocational school center in Ellwangen and then until 2018 at the Crailsheim commercial school .

In addition to teaching at schools Brauer also exercised a lecturer at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg and at the Ludwigsburg University of Education from.

Political activity

In 2008 Brauer became chairman of the FDP district association Schwäbisch Hall and member of the district association Heilbronn / Franken. Between 2009 and 2014 he was a member of the district council of the Schwäbisch Hall district , from 2011 also chairman of the FDP parliamentary group.

On August 1, 2018, Brauer became a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . He replaced the MP Friedrich Bullinger , who gave up his state parliament mandate after twelve years of membership. Like him, Brauer is running for the Schwäbisch Hall state electoral district , where he was Bullinger's substitute candidate. In the state parliament, Brauer is a member of the finance, economy and petition committees.

Miscellaneous and private

Brauer has been a member of the administrative board of Schwäbisch Hall Klinikum GmbH since 2014 . He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Schwäbisch Hall-Crailsheim from 2014 to 2019 .

Brauer is married and has one child.

On March 20, 2020, it was announced that he had been infected with the coronavirus.
