Stephen Joseph Rossetti

Stephen Joseph Rossetti (born June 15, 1951 in Marcellus , New York ) is an American priest , author and psychologist . He teaches at the Catholic University of America .

Life

Rossetti graduated in 1973 the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and went with the rank of Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force one. He earned a Masters of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974 and worked for the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency , the intelligence service of the United States Air Force.

From 1980 he studied theology at the Theological College of the Catholic University of America . In 1982 he obtained a Master of Arts in theology there, followed in 1985 by the Doctor of Ministry (DMin). In 1984 Rossetti was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Syracuse . He served as parish vicar at St. Patrick's Parish in Binghamton , New York, and at St. James Church in Johnson City , also in New York state.

In 1990 he acquired at Boston College the Master of Arts in Psychology ( Counseling Psychology ). In 1993 he was employed as a psychologist at the Saint Luke Institute in Silver Spring , Maryland , a private, Catholic psychiatric hospital, and soon became its vice-president. In 1994 he graduated from Boston College with a Ph.D. in psychology. In 1996, Rossetti became President and Chief Executive Officer of the Saint Luke Institute. He held this office until 2009.

In 2010 Rossetti joined the Theological Faculty of the Catholic University of America as a university professor.
