Stern von Rio is a German crime film directed by Karl Anton from 1940.
action
In Brazil, the prospector Vincente found a huge diamond, the “Star of Rio”, and gave it to his bride, the dancer Concha. The stone rightfully belongs to Don Felipe, who wants to present it in Amsterdam. Concha travels with us and shows him off as a mannequin. But the stone disappears during the presentation and Concha is suspected of stealing it. Finally, the detective Adrian manages to track down the real culprit. It is Jacobo who accompanied Concha on guitar during the performance. He caused a short circuit, used the darkness and quickly hid the stone in his rumbarassel. He is arrested and Concha and Felipe become a couple for good.
Trivia
Star of Rio was the last film by the leading actress and dancer La Jana ; she died a few months after the shooting ended. A film of the same name was produced by Artur Brauner in 1955 .
