Steuler is a German company. The headquarters are in Höhr-Grenzhausen in the Westerwald .

Steuler is a group of companies with subsidiaries that have specialized in industrial corrosion protection, plant construction / environmental technology and tiles. The group develops, produces and installs corrosion-resistant and refractory materials as well as lining technologies for the chemical industry, in metal extraction plants, in power plants and hazardous waste incineration plants ( waste incineration ) as well as in the iron and steel industry.

history

In 1908 Georg Steuler developed the world's first acid-resistant putty (potassium water glass putty ) and thus laid the foundation for Steuler industrial plants (until 2010). The “Steuler Towers” built on the basis of this putty enabled the large-scale production of nitric and sulfuric acid for the first time. The next step in development was the manufacture of refractory products.

Steuler Towers

Today the company is one of the providers of material development and lining technology. The group is one of the world's leading providers in the areas of industrial corrosion protection and plant construction / environmental technology.

In 2010, parts of the Keramchemie Siershahn (formerly KCH Group GmbH ) were integrated into the group and the corrosion protection area was bundled under the new name STEULER-KCH GmbH.

Plastic pipes and columns as well as plastic containers are manufactured, which consist of corrosion-resistant plastics on the inside and are coated on the outside with fiberglass-reinforced synthetic resins.

The Steuler Group invested ten million euros in the plant and, when choosing the location, relied on the good infrastructure in the region in the Kannenbäckerland and the favorable location between the two company headquarters in Höhr-Grenzhausen and Siershahn.

Plant construction

Steuler Anlagenbau is a subsidiary of the Steuler Group. Plant construction has been an independent business unit with its location in Höhr-Grenzhausen and global cooperation partners since 1965. Steuler Anlagenbau constructs various plant systems, combined with environmental technology.

Regeneration and wastewater technology

The subsidiary constructs regeneration systems which continuously treat water, acids, alkalis and metals from process solutions and feed them back into the production process, thus reducing operating costs and avoiding environmental pollution. With these system modules, the required process technology can be designed and installed in a future-proof manner, also with regard to the accumulation of residues and emissions.

Catalyst technology

The catalyst technology is mainly used in greenhouses, where the exhaust gases are used to recover CO2 . Since 1980, SCR and oxidation catalytic converter systems have been developed with which the pollutants NOx , CO , CHx and dioxides are transferred into the natural components of the atmosphere.

Surface treatment

The surface technology used by Steuler is used for chemical, mechanical or galvanic pretreatment of metal surfaces. Here acid is used in the process to remove scale and other contaminants from stainless steel surfaces, which leads to a reduction in NOx .

Sponsorship activities

Since 2011, Steuler involved in the initiated by the Federal Government Germany scholarship and to sponsor a student at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management . The Deutschlandstipendium supports students with a monthly amount of money. Half comes from the federal government, the other half from private donors. The promotion of committed young talent is also an important concern for the Steuler Group.

The group sponsored equipment and participation of an employee of Steuler Anlagenbau GmbH in the Ironman in Hawaii in 2012 and 2015.
