Steve Baumgärtel (born February 25, 1984 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) is a German handball player .

career

Baumgärtel's career began at the age of nine with ESV Frankfurt (Oder) , from which he moved to USV Cottbus in the half series of the 2000/01 season. During the time in his hometown he was also represented in the Brandenburg state selection. In Cottbus he was appointed to the NOHV squad. After completing his A-levels at the Cottbus sports school and the following civil service , the left-hander switched to the Dessau-Roßlauer HV at the beginning of the 2004/05 season , where Baumgärtel only made a few missions; Baumgärtel did not have enough working hours in the following season either. He was also given a second game right for Jessener SV 53, with which he was able to celebrate the state championship title of Saxony-Anhalt in 2006.

During the 2006/07 season he came in 32 games on 78 goals, including 46 seven meters. This season also saw his most successful game to date during his time in the second Bundesliga, when he scored ten goals against TuS Spenge . He was able to break this personal record in the following season when he successfully netted twelve times at 26:20 against HC Empor Rostock . Overall, the left-hander managed to score ten goals or more in one game six times. In the 2006/07 season he also played for the second team of the Dessau-Roßlauer HV. With the so-called rookies, he succeeded in the second national championship after the triumph in 2006.

In the following year he was the sixth best goalscorer in the second Bundesliga North (219 goals / 88 seven meters). Under Pysall, Baumgärtel became deputy captain after André Langen. In the 2009/10 season Steve Baumgärtel played for Concordia Delitzsch . For the 2010/11 season he moved to SC DHfK Leipzig . After three seasons in Leipzig, he moved to TSG Groß-Bieberau , which shortly afterwards formed the MSG Groß-Bieberau / Modau syndicate with TSV Modau . For the 2015/16 season he moved to SG LVB Leipzig . In the summer of 2019 he joined the NHV Concordia Delitzsch.
