Steve Raines

Steve Raines (born June 17, 1916 in Grants Pass , Oregon , † January 4, 1996 there ) was an American actor .

Life

Raines began his acting career in 1947 with an uncredited role in the B-movie - Western Along the Oregon Trail ; This was followed by numerous other representations of henchmen in B-Westerns, including on the side of "Fuzzy" Al St. John . With My Great Friend Shane and The Broken Lance he played in major Hollywood productions in the 1950s, but he still did not get any major roles. From 1952 he also appeared in television series, including various roles in half a dozen episodes of The Roy Rogers Show .

He became known to the American television audience from 1959 through his portrayal of Jack Quince in the successful western series Thousand Miles of Dust . At the side of Eric Fleming and Clint Eastwood he was to be seen in 215 episodes of the series until 1965. However, after the end of A Thousand Miles of Dust , he could not continue the success. He played a few minor guest roles in series such as Bonanza , The People of Shiloh Ranch and High Chaparral until the mid-1970s , but then withdrew from show business.
