Steven Yeun

Steven Yeun ( Korean 연상 엽 ; born December 21, 1983 in Seoul , South Korea ) is a South Korean -American actor who is used in film and television as well as a stage actor. The native South Korean also works as a voice actor. A transcription of his name is Sang-yeop Yeun .

life and career

Born in the South Korean capital, Yeun came to the United States at a young age, where he grew up in Troy , Michigan . He found his way into acting during his time at Kalamazoo College , where he studied psychology and attended a piece by the local improvisational theater group . From this point on, he decided to devote himself primarily to acting and, after graduating from Kalamazoo, studied improvisational theater in Chicago , where he also worked in various theaters and theater groups (including in The Second City ). In The Second City he was among other things in their traveling theater troupes, but was also active in the groups based at the location of The Second City in Chicago's Old Town district . Another Chicago theater in which Yeun played was the Steppenwolf Theater Company , where he was engaged in two major roles in the play Kafka on the Shore . He also played in some local improvisation and sketch groups . By the time he gathered in commercials for various brands such as Best Buy , Apple or Milky Way experience and finally had in 2007, his first noteworthy international commitment when he as a voice for the computer game Crysis was committed and also in the subsequent game Crysis Warhead to was heard.

After his time in Chicago, Yeun moved to Los Angeles , where he currently still lives. Yeun made his first notable television appearance in 2009, when he worked as director and producer in the short film The Kari Files , Greg Grabianski's debut film . In the same year he got one of the leading roles in the independent film My Name Is Jerry , followed by an eventful 2010 in which he was engaged in a number of different productions. He had one of the leading roles in the short film Carpe Millennium and was also seen in another short film with Blowout Sale . After a brief speaking role (as Leonard's previous tenant) in episode 3.22 of The Big Bang Theory , Yeun was brought into the cast of The Walking Dead in May 2010 as one of the main characters . In the series he played the former pizza delivery man Glenn , who became a key member of the survivor group after the zombie apocalypse, until the beginning of the seventh season .

In early December 2016, Steven Yeun married his long-time girlfriend in Los Angeles.
