The Steyr SPP ( S pecial P urpose P istol) is a gun , which in the 1980s by Steyr Mannlicher developed.
At the same time, the fully automatic version of the Steyr TMP was built for the military and the executive , which only differs in optics in terms of an extended magazine and the handle on the front of the weapon. The TMP magazine also fits on the SPP. A Picatinny rail can be attached to the upper part of the housing to use additional aiming aids . The breech has eight locking lugs that are milled into the barrel and breech block. The lock is released by rotating the barrel.
The weapon spreads approx. 20-25 mm over 20 meters. The practical use of various silencers is made much easier due to the barrel rotating instead of tipping when unlocking .
