The pen is a 567.7  m above sea level. NHN high elevation in the eastern Main-Kinzig district in the area of ​​the Sinntal community between the districts of Schwarzenfels and Oberzell and is part of the Altengronau state forest.

The wooded ridge is part of the Spessart Nature Park , but is naturally included in the Brückenauer Kuppenrhön .

Together with the Stoppelsberg located to the northwest, 570.7  m above sea level. NHN and the Hague to the east ( 584.6  m above sea level ), the monastery is designated as a 440.2 hectare fauna-flora habitat and nature reserve.
