Stig Rossen Nancke (born June 14, 1962 ) is a Danish actor and singer.

Rossen graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama . In 1990 he got a role in a London production of Les Misérables and was so successful that he played the lead role of Jean Valjean three months later . This role, which he has since played in around 1,500 performances in ten countries, brought his international breakthrough as an actor and musical performer.

Since 1988 Rossen has released ten albums, including "Starry Starry Nights", "The Impossible Dream" and most recently in 2006 "When You Wish upon a Star". He is also active as a musical singer and producer. In 2001 he founded with Mikkel Roennow the horses & Roennow Musical Productions with the goal of producing musicals at an international level for the Danish audience. Rossen & Roennow produced Chess in 2001 (with Rossen in the role of Anatoli), in 2002 Barry Manilow's Copacabana (with Rossen as Tony Forte) and in 2003 Les Misérables , again with Rossen as Jean Valjean.

He has also appeared in musicals such as The Egtved Girl , Ballads Of Art And Love , The Color Of Love, and Jesus Christ Superstar . He also acted as a voice actor for characters in the Disney films Mulan and Lilo & Stitch , appeared as a singer with Nana Mouskouri and Grethe Ingmann and made recordings with Per Nielsen and DJ Alligator .

In 2005 he was the Hans Christian Andersen Ambassador of Denmark on the occasion of the 200th birthday of Hans Christian Andersen . In the same year he gave his first concert tour through the USA and gave television concerts in the USA and Canada.

In 2006 he published the autobiographical book Livet Skal ikke leves på automatpilot ("Life shouldn't be lived on autopilot").

Stig Rossen also sang the Danish versions of Phil Collins' soundtracks for the Tarzan films.
