Stile Italia was a short-lived Italian automobile body manufacturer primarily engaged in the design and construction of prototypes.

Company history

Stile Italia was founded in 1966 by Domenico Iseglio, a former employee of the Turin design studio and bodywork company Bertone . Stile Italia was based in Turin. The company offered various services in the automotive sector. His field of activity ranged from mere drafts for car bodies and interiors to the construction of roadworthy prototypes. In this area, there was also a collaboration with Sibona-Basano . In 1970 economic difficulties and "the general crisis in the automotive sector" led to the cessation of operations.

Since 2000, the name Stile Italia has been used again by a tuning company from Salzano . There is no connection to the bodybuilder Domenico Iseglios.

Working styles of Italy

Bizzarrini 5300 Spyder SI

Among the most famous works are styles of Italy

  • the design for a modernized Tatra 603 , which was not adopted for series production (1966).
  • the Sirio sports car by Siva Automobili (1966): Stile Italia revised Giovanni Michelotti's design of the Sirio, replacing some unusual approaches with solutions suitable for everyday use. Stile Italia also built three prototypes of the Sirio, which were presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1967.
  • the second version of the Bizzarrini GT 5300 Spyder , which bears the suffix SI as a reference to Stile Italia. After Giotto Bizzarrini abandoned an early Spyder version of his GT 5300 sports car he had designed himself due to the strong torsional tendency of the body, Stile Italia constructed a significantly stiffened second version, one of which was built in 1967 and 1968. Stile Italia outsourced essential parts of the construction work to Sibona-Basano. The first vehicle was created at the express request of a Bizzarrini customer, the second remained with the owner of Stile Italia, possibly as a replacement for unpaid wages.
