The Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera was founded in 2006. It is based in Terrazzano di Rho in the metropolitan city of Milan . The company is part of the Zeta Europe BV Group , registered in the Netherlands , which in turn belongs to the Belgian entrepreneurial family D'Ieteren .

The company picks up on two classic terms from Italian automotive history: Carrozzeria Touring (without the addition of Superleggera), founded by Felice Bianchi Anderloni and Gaetano Ponzoni in 1926, was one of the best-known Italian bodywork companies until the 1960s; Their customers included national and international automobile manufacturers such as Alfa Romeo , Lancia , Aston Martin , Bristol , and Jensen .
