Stjepan Kukuruzović (born June 7, 1989 in Thun ) is a Croatian footballer whose family immigrated to Switzerland .

Career

The midfielder played for FC Lerchenfeld in his early youth. The talent of the left foot was not hidden from those responsible for long, which is why it was promoted there with individual training. On July 20, 2003 (at the age of 13) he moved to the Challenge League club FC Thun , where he first played for the youth teams, most recently for FC Thun II (U-21). Since the 2008/09 season Kukuruzović was in the squad of the 1st team and has since been one of the regular players.

On December 8, 2009 it was announced that the offensive midfielder had signed a long-term contract with FC Zurich . However, he remained on loan at FC Thun until the end of the season. Kukuruzović confirmed his good performance from the preliminary round in the second half of the season and scored a total of 7 goals, including the decisive goal against direct rivals FC Lugano in the match in the penultimate round of the game. Thanks in part to his achievements, the Bernese Oberland club won the Challenge League this season and was promoted to the Axpo Super League .

In early June 2010, Stjepan Kukuruzović moved to FC Zurich as announced.
