The Stockauwiesen are a protected moor near Zwiesel in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park . They are located about 1,300 m west of the Zwiesel district of Innenried and form a hillside moor in the area of the Michelsbach, which forms the border with the Langdorf community . The area used to serve as pasture, but has not been used for agriculture for a long time and has therefore fallen fallow .
Flora and Funga
In the Stockauwiesen rare marsh and bog plants like growing marsh lousewort , Forest lousewort , Common Cranberry , Low salsify , Schei Diges cotton grass , Eriophorum angustifolium , Alpine-cotton grass , Sundew , rosemary , Parnassia palustris , Seven Star , arnica , Geöhrtes hawkweed , Swamp blood-eye , fever clover , broad-leaved orchid , fox's orchid , greenish forest hyacinth and common butterwort . Also noteworthy are the fungi found in the area and endangered in Bavaria in the population, common hairy tongue , Heller swamp navel and steel-blue-stemmed rötling .
Nature reserve
The Stockau-Wiesen nature reserve is 10.7 hectares in size. It was created by the ordinance of the Bavarian State Ministry for Regional Development and Environmental Issues in the Bavarian Law and Ordinance Gazette No. 21/1980 of September 1, 1980 with effect from October 1, 1980. The city of Zwiesel bought the area in 1997 and has been maintaining it ever since. The nature conservation work assignments are coordinated by the "Energy and Environment" working group. In the course of the maintenance measures, emerging tree growth is removed and the moor is protected from encroachment . Another goal is to create a black grouse habitat. This is why there are no trails in the nature reserve from March 31 to July 31 . The Stockauwiesen are also a protected area according to the Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive .
