Band history

In December 1999, André Karsten and Daniel Schleith had the idea of forming a new band called “ Salt Lake Divers ” during a joint jam session . Up to April 2000 four titles had been written together with Marcus Schwalbach. With this material the musicians went in search of a suitable singer. He found himself with Emilio Mendez. The same month began recording for the EP Fan Only . The band decided to change the band name to " Stoneblind " during the recording .

With the title Memorybox from the EP Fan Only , the band stayed in the top 10 of the music charts of the music online portal besonic.com for a few weeks in 2000 . In November 2000 bassist Marcus Schwalbach left the band. He was replaced by Jens Zulauf (Nanda Zip). Since Zulauf only wanted to support the band temporarily, they continued to look for a new bass player.

In January 2001 the title Memorybox appeared on the supplement CD of the German NETSPOTTING magazine (circulation 120,000). In February 2001 on the CD of the English MP3 magazine (circulation 130,000). That same month, the band won a Motor Music song contest . The song Fly with Me then became the title of the soundtrack for the German film Der Krieger und die Kaiserin . In April 2001, the band just missed an appearance in the soap opera Verbotene Liebe in the final round of a band contest organized by Grundy UFA .

Bassist Thorsten Schäfer joined Stoneblind in November 2001 and Jens Zulauf left the band. In the same month, the recordings for a new album began, which was completed in July 2002. The album called Memorybox contains 14 tracks and was available as a digipak from November 2002. The CD was distributed by INDIGO sales . In the same year, the band began working with the concert office of Extratours , which from then on was responsible for the band's performances.

At the end of 2003, the student Michele Busiello of the SAE Institute in Frankfurt am Main approached the band with the idea of producing a music video as part of his thesis . The band members and Busiello chose the newly written title Far from Heaven .

The band's last concert took place on March 26, 2004 in Hofheim / Taunus. By then the band had played over 100 concerts. In May 2004 the band announced their breakup.
