The storsola is a 1728 moh. (Swedish west summit) high mountain in the Norwegian - Swedish border area of the Sylan and is the southernmost peak of the Sylan massif. The dominance from the western summit to the next higher mountain, the Storsylen , is 2.65 km.
Controversial affiliation
If it is counted as a Norwegian mountain due to the eastern summit, it belongs to the area of the municipality of Tydal in Trøndelag . If you define it as belonging to Sweden via the higher western summit , it lies in the area of the municipality of Åre , in Jämtland County .
However, it is disputed whether the Storsla is actually a two-peaked or a single-peaked mountain. If you count it as a single peaked Swedish mountain, it is the third highest in Jämtland and the twelve highest in all of Sweden.
Development
The normal route to the Storsola begins at the Nedalshytta at around 780 moh in the Norwegian municipality of Tydal . From there the path leads first to the Ekorrpasset pass and then on to a ridge that leads to the Storsola.
