The Strada Statale 34 (SS34) is an Italian state road that was laid down in 1928 between the SS 33 and the Swiss border near Cannobio . It goes back to a section of the Strada nazionale 34 established in 1923. Because of its leadership on the shores of Lake Maggiore , it received the title del Lago Maggiore . Its length is 39 kilometers. In Switzerland it turns into Hauptstrasse 13 . In Verbania , the SS34 runs on a more northerly city street, as it was originally, to avoid the city center on the waterfront.
