Motorization

Euro 6 engines:

The natural gas engines have no exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and no selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to comply with Euro VI regulations, but use three-way catalytic converters as in the passenger car sector.

The diesel engines of the Euro 6 emissions standard have common rail injection (injection pressures up to 2200 bar) and achieve the standard without exhaust gas recirculation through the use of SCR . In addition, an electronically controlled turbocharger with variable geometry is used in some power levels.

A total of different performance levels from five different displacement variants are available. Stralis NP (Natural Power), natural gas

  • Cursor 13, 12.9 l displacement: 338 kW (460 hp)
  • Cursor 9, 8.7 l displacement: 294 kW (400 hp)
  • Cursor 8, 7.8 l displacement: 243 kW (330 hp)
  • Cursor 8, 7.8 l displacement: 221 kW (300 PS)

Euro 4/5 / EEV engines:

All engines are four-valve R6 with modern pump-nozzle injection , overhead camshaft and partly variable turbocharger.

Different performance levels from three different displacement variants are available:

  • Cursor 8, 7.8 l displacement: 228–265 kW (310–360 hp)

history

The Stralis was introduced in 2002 as the successor to the EuroStar (Int. Long-Distance Transport, Stralis AS) and EuroTech (Distribution Transport and Medium-Haulage, Stralis AT and Stralis AD). In 2003 it received the Truck of the Year award for the first time . In 2006, the Stralis II, initially announced under the name Stralis Cube, was an extensive facelift . In 2013, the revised Stralis Hi-way model was voted Truck of the Year again. In 2016 the new Stralis models XP and NP were presented. The IVECO Stralis XP, also called TCO 2 CHAMPION from IVECO, has significantly reduced fuel consumption. With the IVECO Stralis NP, IVECO is the first manufacturer to make long-distance transport suitable for natural gas. The Stralis is produced in Madrid .
