Truck of the Year

Truck of the Year is an award given annually by journalists in Europe to a new truck from the previous year.

The initiative originated in the United Kingdom in 1976 and in the following year also included Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. For the jury a renowned journalist per country is allowed, which also regularly in magazines have to publish on commercial vehicles are specialized. There are now 25 European countries represented, including Russia and Turkey.

The Van of the Year version has been in existence since 1992, with a mostly equally composed jury. As Van of the Year only commercial vehicles come with a gross vehicle weight up to 3.5 tons into consideration. This is the lower weight limit for nomination and selection for Truck of the Year .
