strassenstars (up to and including 2016: strassenstars ) is a game show hosted by Roberto Cappelluti on hr television , which was first broadcast on January 27, 2004.
In the show, a three-member team of moderators and comedians in the studio should demonstrate their knowledge of human nature and assess which of the three previously interviewed "street stars" correctly answered a question of knowledge (who knows?), Has a behavior or a habit (who is it?) or have accepted a test of courage (who does it?).
The show was produced under the title strassen stars initially in Frankfurt am Main and then over several years in Kassel . Since the season first aired on January 7, 2017, the show has returned to Frankfurt.
precursor
strassenstars is borrowed from a US television format that ran between 2000 and 2005 under the title "Street Smarts". In contrast to street stars , in the US original, two non-celebrity people make up the advice team. Sat.1 adapted the format in 2002 under the title Ströhlein's Experts . The US concept with the two-person non-prominent advice team was retained. The winner received the Ampelmännchen - merchandising prize . However, the show was canceled after a few episodes.
Shipment process
Before the broadcast, three passers-by on Hessian streets are asked about various topics. A three-person advice team in the studio should then demonstrate their knowledge of human nature and assess which of the three “street stars” questioned answered the question correctly. The knowledge questions come from areas such as language, science, film and sport. Everyday life is also questioned (“Why are manhole covers round?”).
In addition to the general education, the advice team has to assess the habits and characteristics of the “street stars”, at the end Roberto Cappelluti asks the “street stars” for a test of courage; whoever judges best collects points. The “comedy effect” arises in the studio when the advice team discusses the knowledge and ignorance of the “street stars”: Why does the advice team believe, for example, that someone who knits also reads the Bible?
The program, which Roberto Cappelluti calls the “Psychology Quiz ”, is divided into several game rounds. Depending on the round of the game, the focus is on general knowledge or the characteristics of the "street star".

In the first few years there was an additional game round “who doesn't know?”, Which was played after “who knows?” And before “who is it?”. The advice team in the studio had to assess which passerby answered the question incorrectly. However, this round was canceled without replacement in 2008, as viewers found it to be too complicated. Instead, more questions have been played in the first round since then. The change therefore has no effect on the maximum number of points that can be achieved per shipment.

The concept was varied on the occasion of the 2006 World Cup in Germany : instead of the “street stars”, i.e. randomly selected passers-by, celebrities who have something to do with football were used as candidates in this series - such as Jens Lehmann or Gerhard Delling . The show ran under the name soccer stars from 10 May to 9 June 2006 in the hr-TV (as opposed to roads stars on Sundays in the WDR to room! ).
On June 10, 2019, strassenstars XXL was broadcast on the occasion of the 500th program . In this 90-minute episode, Henni Nachtsheim, Bettina Tietjen, Jörg Thadeusz, Susanne Fröhlich, Bodo Bach and Hadnet Tesfai each competed on the side of the candidates and in the advice team.
Cooperation with the Berlin-Brandenburg broadcasting company
In 2010, Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg produced nine episodes of “strassen stars” with candidates from Berlin and Brandenburg in collaboration with hr-fernsehen. The program was also moderated by Roberto Cappelluti, and as returning guests on the advice team, alongside Jörg Thadeusz and Susanne Fröhlich, who are also regular guests in the episodes on hr-television, Miriam Pielhau and Hans-Werner Olm also appeared. The concept of the program has been adopted without any changes. The first broadcast of these nine episodes took place from September 20 to November 22, 2010.
Trivia
For the first time in the history of “strassen stars” there was no winner in the broadcast on September 19, 2010, because all three celebrities set and lost all points in the last round.
In the broadcast on February 6, 2011, Susanne Fröhlich achieved the maximum possible number of points for the first time with 200 points. Hadnet Tesfai repeated this on November 20, 2011 and also set the record for the highest victory, as her fellow riders Henni Nachtsheim and Susanne Fröhlich both achieved 0 points.
On September 11, 2011, Anja Reschke scored the most points, but was still not the winner of the evening. After evaluating the first tip in the final round, she humorously announced that she would “contest the result of the program” and definitely not accept it, as she was treated unfairly in her opinion. As it turned out later, she was correct with her tip and would have regularly won the show. Moderator Roberto Cappelluti, however, declared Bodo Bach, who after Anja Reschke collected the most points, to be the winner of the evening.
On May 27, 2012, the game was decided before the final round. Susanne Fröhlich answered all of the questions correctly and entered the final round with 100 points. Bettina Tietjen had 20 and could achieve a maximum of 40, Bodo Bach with 41 points a maximum of 82. Susanne Fröhlich, who usually sets all the points, recognized this and commented on her tip with the words “since I have mastered the basic arithmetic operations, I am very relaxed”. Although she was correct with her tip, thanks to only 10 points placed would have been ahead of Bach and Tietjen even in the worst case.
In the broadcast of September 29, 2013 Jörg Thadeusz was wrong with all assessments and thus had 0 points on his account before the final round. In order to continue playing and to be able to set points for the final round, he was given a point by Roberto Cappelluti . With a correct assessment he was able to double this and thus took third place with 2 points.
On February 8, 2015, Susanne Fröhlich achieved 201 points by answering all questions correctly and receiving an extra point for predicting a correct answer.
Bodo Bach achieved the maximum score of 200 points in the August 9, 2015 issue. He was able to answer all the questions correctly and was also right in the final round, as his “street star” made the so-called “test of courage”.
One point was deducted from Bettina Tietjen in the broadcast on September 10, 2017 because the reason she gave for her tip corresponded exactly to the opposite of the story of the street star.
In the show on December 8, 2019, Henni Nachtsheim led the “dein strassenstar” round with 50 points, ahead of Anja Reschke with 41 and Susanne Fröhlich with 40 points. In order to be able to choose his “street star” first as the last placed, he gave away five points to Reschke and six points to Fröhlich. Ultimately, Nachtsheim won the show.
