The Vladivostok Tram is a wide-gauge tram company in the eastern Siberian city of Vladivostok .

The line was opened on October 22, 1912 as a meter-gauge horse - drawn tram under the name of the First Russian East Siberian Tramway Company. Cars that were delivered from Austria-Hungary were used. By 1934 the network had grown to around 21 kilometers. Between March and December of this year, the entire network was retrained from the meter gauge to the Russian broad gauge of 1524 mm. By 1989 the network was then expanded to 46.2 kilometers. Due to the city's topography, there are numerous sections of the route with steep gradients.

Since 2010, only line number 6 has been operated on the network. The line is driven by 47 RWZ-6 vehicles from 1976–1988, 25 KTM-5 vehicles from 1988–1992, 20 KTM-8 vehicles from 1992–1994 and five LM- 93 from 1996–1999. The RWZ-6, which originated in the Latvian town of Riga , were fundamentally renewed in 2001 in the company's own facilities.

Since October 1997 the tram has been free of charge. This gesture by the mayor secured him re-election. It also brings around 400,000 customers a day, which corresponds to around 60 percent of all public transport passengers . In the meantime, passengers have to pay again; in the summer of 2003 a single trip cost three rubles.

In addition to the trams in the city trolley buses . This network is 56.2 kilometers long, in some cases extends far into the suburbs and is to be expanded further due to the difficult topography.
