Emergence

Vocals from the French House band Daft Punk were used as the basis of the production . This is the 2001 project Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger , written by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo . Kanye West's management made a request to Daft Punk's Pedro Winter manager . The sampling of the song was finally approved. In a later interview, the band members rated the creation process as positive. The band members liked the sampled version. They said: "Hip-Hop has always been exciting and interesting for us". In another interview with Billboard, they said that “our song had a good sound, but when [the radio DJ] put on Kanye's record, the sound was pretty fat. It sounds really awesome. ”Later, Kanye West made direct contact with the two band members on the sidelines of the Lollapalooza Festival.

The original Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk is based on a revised instrumental by Cola Bottle Baby . It was written by Edwin Birdsong in 1979.

The song was recorded at Sony Music Studios ( New York City ), Ape Sounds ( Tokyo ) and Record Plant ( Los Angeles ). West worked with 8 sound engineers and 11 sound mixers during production . This resulted in a total of 50 versions of the record. The mastering was done by Manny Marroquin.
