Stuart Hall is a British jazz violinist, guitarist and bassist. In addition to the instruments mentioned, Hall also plays traditional and historical instruments such as Oud , Bouzouki , Saz , Banjo , Tres , Lyra and Gadulka .

He recorded albums with Lol Coxhill , Django Bates and Human Chain , Steve Argüelles and Billy Jenkins . He also played with Tim Berne and was one of the Loose Tubes and the Generation Big Band of Alec & John Dankworth . He also played medieval music with Belinda Sykes ' group Joglaresa .

With Huw Warren , Eddie Parker and Martin France , Hall founded the Hermetologist , who play the music of Hermeto Pascoal . Alongside Paul Clarvis , he is co-leader of the Orquestra Mahatma .

Since 1999 he has been teaching at the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Summer School . He leads the Bachelor courses in jazz at Middlesex University , where rock violinists such as Joolz Heath were among his students, and teaches at the Royal Academy of Music .
