Sub7even is a rock band founded in 1999 in the Dortmund - Essen - Herne triangle . The band became known through their first single Weatherman and various concerts with the Böhse Onkelz .

Band history

Sub7even was founded in 1999 by the former Rage members Christian Wolff, Sven Fischer, Spiros Efthimiadis, Christos Efthimiadis and the singer Daniel Wirtz, who was only known regionally to date. In the same year the band was signed by the record label BMG .

In 2000 the album Sub7even and the accompanying single Weatherman were released , which was a nationwide success and reached number 38 in the Media Control Charts. In December of that year, the band made a guest appearance on the soap opera Verbotene Liebe .

In 2001 Sub7even played for the first time in front of a larger audience, such as at Rock am Ring , the SWR3- Open-Air or as the opening act for the Böhsen Onkelz at their Gegen-den-Hass - benefit concert , the proceeds of which were donated to the benefit of victims of right-wing extremist violence were. Another album called Wicked was also released that year .

In early 2002, the single Free your Mind, recorded together with En Vogue , was released, and in the middle of the year the corresponding album of the same name was released, which entered the Media Control Charts at number 50 . In November 2002 there was a separation from the record label BMG . In the summer of 2002 Sub7even played as a support on the entire indoor tour of the Böhse Onkelz. At the concert in Dortmund they played with the Onkelz "Only when I'm drunk".

At the beginning of 2003, Sven Fischer and Christian Wolff left the band to go their own way. The two missing musicians are initially replaced at concerts by the bassist Rob Protzmann, but then ultimately by the bassist Kai Lemke. Today Christian Wolff works as a producer in his own studio in East Friesland and has worked for Exilia , Within Temptation and 4Lyn , among others .

In October 2004 Sub7even played as the second supporting act at the two Dortmund concerts of the Böhsen Onkelz. Since the middle of November the band has been back in the studio to record the album LOVECHAINSROCKETS . The producer of the new album was Stephan Weidner , bassist of the Böhsen Onkelz.

In June 2005 Sub7even performed in front of their largest audience of 120,000 at the Böhse-Onkelz farewell festival Vaya con Tioz .

The cooperation with Stephan Weidner as well as the appearances as a support band of the Böhsen Onkelz brought the band disadvantages, both in the media area and from the organizer side.

On May 26, 2006, after some delay, the album LOVECHAINSNROCKETS was released as the first album on Stephan Weidner's new label 3R. After a radical change of image, the band presented itself from a completely new perspective on this studio album. After the departure of the keyboardist Chris Wolff, the use of spherical sounds was largely dispensed with, so that "now rocked freely".

At the end of 2007, Kai Lemke resigned for “personal reasons”. In 2008 PogoTS took its place on the stage.

In March 2008, Wirtz released his first album, 11 Zeugen , sung in German, in contrast to Sub7even, from which initially only the single Ne Weile Her was extracted. In November 2008 the single No Fear was released . In 2009 his second album Erdling was released . This reached number 44 on the German album charts. In 2011 his third album Akustik Voodoo was released , which reached number 5 in the German album charts.
