Succession is an American television series broadcast by HBO . In German-speaking countries, it can be seen on the Sky Atlantic HD channel . It was extended for a second season. A third season was ordered in August 2019.

The linchpin of the series is the family of the fictional US media and entertainment mogul Logan Roy, especially his four children, who control one of the largest media and entertainment conglomerates in the world. The series follows her life as she ponders what the future holds for her when her aging father begins to pull out of the company.

“Especially the soundtrack by Nicholas Britell ( Moonlight ) and the special sense of humor of the series maker Jesse Armstrong stand out positively. Apart from that, the series has little that is innovative or extraordinarily interesting to offer, which is primarily due to the hackneyed series premise. (...) If succession were a touch less family drama and instead more current political media criticism, the series might have an argument in favor of its own relevance, which is definitely still in question after the pilot episode Celebration . "
