Sue Lloyd-Roberts

Susan Ann "Sue" Lloyd-Roberts CBE (born October 27, 1950 in London ; † October 13, 2015 ) was a British television journalist who worked for the BBC and before that for ITN .

Life

Lloyd-Roberts was born in London and attended Cheltenham Ladies College . After graduating from school, she went to St Hilda's College at the University of Oxford , where she studied history and foreign languages ​​and graduated with a bachelor's degree .

Immediately after graduating from university, she started working for ITN, the news division of ITV , and did a lot of coverage on the News at Ten news program .

Sue Lloyd-Roberts then worked as a special correspondent for the BBC and covered a variety of events from around the world. She wrote a lot of background reports for the news program Newsnight and for the Our World program of the BBC World News and the news channel BBC News .

She announced on a BBC television broadcast in June 2015 that she had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia and that she urgently needed a stem cell donor. She said she would keep a video diary of her treatment. She died on October 13, 2015 of complications after the stem cell transplant she received in July 2015.
