The Sungri engine factory (승리 자동차 종합 기업소 Korean), previously Tokchon-engine factory , is a North Korean company that vehicles manufactured.

Company history

The Tokchon engine factory was founded in November 1950. The production of trucks began in 1958. Omnibuses , off-road vehicles and passenger cars followed later . In 1975 the name was changed to Sungri-Motorenfabrik . The brand names are Achimkoy , Chaju , Konsor , Kumsusan , Sonyon , Sungri and Sungrisan . A second source confirms the brand names Konsor , Kumsusan , Sonyon , Sungri and Sungrisan as well as Chaju (in the spelling Jaju ) and also mentions Chollima , Paikdusan and Victory Auto Plant . Annual production fell from around 20,000 vehicles in the early 1980s to 6,000 to 7,000 vehicles in the 1990s to 150 vehicles in 1996.
