Sunthausen is a district of Bad Dürrheim and is located about five kilometers in a south-east direction from it. The place is at an altitude of 705 m above sea level. NN , the largest elevation is the Stierberg . Sunthausen is one of six districts of Bad Dürrheim. After Hochemmingen and Oberbaldingen, it is the third largest district.
history
The first written mention of Sunthausen comes from February 17th, 895 . In this deed of donation, King Arnulf bequeaths the village of Sunthusa to his Chancellor Ernst on the basis of an intercession by Bishop Wiching of Nitra . The certificate also proves a close relationship with Tuningen, two kilometers away .
The northern half of the place used to belong to Württemberg and was Protestant and the southern half of the place belonged to Fürstenberg and was Catholic . The place was separated by the small river Kötach , which meanders through Sunthausen today.
In the years 1797, 1896, 1908 and 1921, large fires devastated the town center with the school and town hall.
Until 1832, the local court was the administrative center in the communities, which was headed by bailiffs . From 1832 the mayor's office was established. Because of the community reform , the community Sunthausen has belonged to the city of Bad Dürrheim since January 1, 1972 . In 1995 the whole place celebrated its 1100th anniversary with a big anniversary party. The honorary mayor is Albert Scherer (CDU).
Infrastructure
In Sunthausen there is a leisure area next to the town hall and 300 meters north of the district there is a rain retention basin and an artificially created water area for the Kötach . In 1987, a spa campsite with 300 parking spaces opened there. Sunthausen is located on the eastern route from Pforzheim to Schaffhausen.
The Catholic Church of St. Mauritius was created between 1908 and 1909 by Raimund Jeblinger by expanding the baroque predecessor building and renovated between 1974 and 1975 by the Archbishop of Freiburg . The celebration altar comes from the Freiburg sculptor Bruno Knittel ; The church was painted by Robert Lipps from Freiburg .
