Susan Baker
Susan Baker (* 1946 in Vienna ) is a German dancer , choreographer and ballet school director .
Life
Baker grew up with her mother in Leipzig . Her father was an American occupation soldier in Vienna. She attended the State Ballet School in Leipzig and in 1964 became a soloist with the German TV Ballet of GDR television , where she danced in all major entertainment shows and galas for twenty years. She became popular with Emöke Pöstenyi - with whom she performed mainly in the 1960s between East Berlin and Moscow as a dance duo based on the West German Kessler twins . She has also appeared as a soloist in DEFA television and cinema films , such as The Man Who Came After Grandma or various television films .
At the end of 1984 she quit her solo engagement with the television ballet and went on tour with the “Susan Baker Dance Trio” until 1989. Together with her husband Reinhard-Franz Praikow, a long-time dancer at Friedrichstadt-Palast and the GDR television ballet, Baker again formed a dance duo that was on the move in the German Democratic Republic until the fall of the Iron Curtain. After 1989 the engagements stopped, in 1991 they both founded a dance school.
In 2000 she involuntarily played in the video Wadde hadde dudde da? - Stefan Raab's contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 - with. Raab had used excerpts from the popular GDR Saturday evening show Ein Kessel Buntes . Today Baker is the manager of a dance school in Dallgow , Havelland .
