Susanne Braunsteffer (born 1979 in Grattersdorf , Deggendorf district ) is a German opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Susanne Braunsteffer graduated from the Salzburg Mozarteum in 2008 with distinction. In the 2008/09 season she was a member of the Opera Studio of the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg , where she a. a. sang the Contessa in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and Gretel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel . From 2009 to 2011 Braunsteffer was a member of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan . In 2010 she sang Michaela in Bizet's Carmen in Belgium . In 2011 she represented Germany at the BBC contest Cardiff Singer of the World . In 2012 Braunsteffer sang Marie in Smetana's The Bartered Bride at the Braunschweig State Theater . In the 2012/13 season she made her debut as Leonora in Verdi's Il Trovatore at the Dortmund Theater , where she then sang Elisabetta in Verdi's Don Carlos and was engaged again in 2015 as Amelia in Verdi's Ein Maskenball , a role that she also did this season at the Saarland Saarbrücken State Theater sings. In 2013 she made her debut as Mimi in Puccini's La Bohème at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo , Brazil . At the 2015 Eutin Festival , Braunsteffer made her debut as Aida in Verdi's opera of the same name. In the 2015/16 season, the soprano sings Cio-Cio-San in Puccini's Madama Butterfly and the title role in Dvořák's Rusalka at the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken .
