reception

Grieger-Langer's methodology is controversial, as the Süddeutsche Zeitung showed in 2010 in a portrait of the profiler. At the end of 2017, the psychologist and journalist Bärbel Schwertfeger also took a critical look at Grieger-Langer and her methodology in the specialist journal Wirtschaftspsychologie aktuell , of which she is editor-in-chief: According to this, they “calculate” the “psychogenetic code” of an applicant without using him to get in touch. Name, date of birth and photo were enough. An Internet search using algorithms then determines a character profile. Body shape, hairstyle, type of glasses and voice also influence the assessment.

After an interview with Grieger-Langer was published on Spiegel Online in spring 2018, Schwertfeger again looked at the “character profiler” on Stefan Niggemeier's media-critical Internet portal Übermedien and described her as a “dubious expert”. She also criticized the "embarrassing Spiegel interview". As a result, Schwertfeger criticized Grieger-Langer's qualification as well as her claim to have worked as a lecturer, and accused her of making several false statements in self-portrayal and advertising. This led to legal disputes between Grieger-Langer and Schwertfeger.

In the summer of 2018, a debate developed in the human resource scene about the program of the Social Recruiting Days 2018, as Grieger-Langer was supposed to take over the opening keynote . After criticism from participants as well as from Schwertfeger, the organizer changed this point of the program to a panel discussion. The alleged references from Grieger-Langer's teaching assignments at German universities did not stand up to judicial review. In 2020, an appeal by Grieger-Langer was rejected.
