The Suzuki GSX 1200 is a motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer Suzuki from the class of naked bikes .

Many details of the GSX 1200 are in the classic style; Features for this are two single shock absorbers on the rear swing arm, small side covers and a large round headlight. The air-oil-cooled engine comes from the Suzuki GSF 1200 and has been redesigned for more torque and better pulling power at lower speeds. The basic concept of this engine was presented in the GSX 1100 ES as early as 1984 and, because it was successful, has hardly been changed for over 20 years. The GSX 1200 is almost identical to the GSX 750 AE, which was released in 1998 . The main distinguishing features of the GSX 1200 from the GSX 750 AE are the Brembo brake calipers on the fork, which are only used on the GSX 1200 , the use of a fuel pump and a reserve fuel tap without a fuel level warning light, and Showa struts with additional adjustable damping. The speedometer and tachometer have different scaling depending on the model.

The Japanese nickname Inazuma ("lightning") may not be used in Germany for reasons of trademark law.
