Sven Berkenhagen (born December 13, 1966 ) is a former German football player.

career

Berkenhagen played for BSG Traktor Semlow in his youth. In 1985 the striker moved to Hansa Rostock's second team . After the first team of FC Hansa was relegated from the league in the 1985/86 season , they played one season in the league , the second highest division in the GDR. This season Berkenhagen came to his only appearance for the first team. With Hansa II he won promotion to the GDR league in 1987. In the 1987/88 season Berkenhagen played again exclusively for the second team. Berkenhagen only missed one league game and made 33 appearances this season. The last place in the table at the end of the season meant the direct relegation.

In 1988 he switched to BSG KKW Greifswald . For KKW Greifswald (from 1990 Greifswalder SC ) Berkenhagen played three seasons in the GDR league, came to 55 point games and scored five goals.

For the 1991/92 season Berkenhagen moved to the 1st Bundesliga for the Stuttgarter Kickers . On the 2nd matchday he made his debut in the top German division. The Kickers coach Rainer Zobel joined him 43 minutes the away game in Cologne for Jens-Peter Fischer one. Berkenhagen played a total of seven times up to the 11th matchday and played once for the full 90 minutes. After the 11th game day he was no longer used. At the end of the season, the Kickers were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga as seventeenth in the table . Berkenhagen stayed with the Kickers and completed 27 games in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 1992/93 season . He scored two goals: that 1: 2 in the 2: 3 away defeat against VfB Leipzig on matchday 16 and the intermittent 1-0 in the 2-1 away win in Wolfsburg on matchday 26. At the end of the season he reached 15th place in the table with the Kickers of 24 teams.

Berkenhagen left the Stuttgarter Kickers and went to Eintracht Braunschweig in the Oberliga Nord . Braunschweig had just been relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga in nineteenth place. Berkenhagen came to 18 missions and one goal for the Braunschweiger and reached the promotion round by a 2nd place in the table, but missed the direct promotion here. Thus Berkenhagen played for Braunschweig in the following season 1994/95 in the newly founded Regionalliga Nord. He came on ten missions and scored one goal. After a knee injury, he had to end his professional career.

During the winter break of the 2005/06 season, Berkenhagen took over the coaching position at the regional league club FSV Blau-Weiß Greifswald, which he looked after until the end of the season. Since the summer of 2006 Berkenhagen has been playing for Greifswalder SV 04 tradition with the old men, at times also as a player-coach.

At the beginning of the 2011/12 season, Berkenhagen took over as trainer for the C2 juniors of Greifswalder SV 04 and worked there as a junior coach in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional league until the end of the 2013/14 season.

Since the beginning of the 2014/15 season, Berkenhagen has been a trainer for the national class representative SV Sturmvogel Lubmin. His main job is to run an incoming agency .

Berkenhagen was at SG Greifswald e. V. also active as a track and field athlete for senior citizens (men 45). He took part in the high jump and javelin competition at the 34th Seniors and Family Sports Festival in Greifswald on September 24, 2011.
