Sven Delblanc

Sven Delblanc ( pronunciation : [ ˌsvɛnː dɛlˈblaŋː ], born May 26, 1931 in Swan River , Manitoba , Canada ; † December 15, 1992 in Gottsunda , Sweden ) was a Swedish writer and literary scholar .

Sven Delblanc's father's family originally came from France , but Sven Delblanc's grandfather was born in Leipzig and later emigrated to Sweden. Sven Delblanc's father was a farmer. Sven Delblanc grew up in Södermanland . In 1965 he received his doctorate and since the same year was a lecturer in literary history at Uppsala University . From 1968 to 1969 Sven Delblanc was visiting professor at the University of Berkeley , California .

Sven Delblanc mainly wrote imaginative novels set in his homeland Södermanland , many of them with an autobiographical background. Some of his novels became extremely popular.
