Sylvain Ducange

Sylvain Ducange SDB (born April 5, 1963 in Port-au-Prince , Haiti ) is a Haitian religious and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Port-au-Prince .

Life

Sylvain Ducange studied from 1984 to 1985 at the religious studies faculty of the Haitian Religious Conference. In 1985 he entered the novitiate of the religious order of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Jarabacoa . He studied at the Pontifical Catholic University "Mater et Magistra" in Santo Domingo and at the Institut d'Etudes Théologiques in Brussels . In 1992, he put his perpetual profession from and received on 8 July 1995, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

From 1996 to 1999 he studied educational science at the Pontifical University of the Salesians in Rome and then worked in various teaching and management positions in his religious province. From January 2010 he was Provincial of the Haitian Salesians for six years .

Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Novae and auxiliary bishop in Port-au-Prince on June 4, 2016 . On August 27 of the same year he was ordained bishop .
