Sylwester Arkadiusz Chruszcz (born August 22, 1972 in Głogów ) is a Polish politician and former member of the European Parliament for the League of Polish Families . He was non-attached in the European Parliament .

Life

Chruszcz received his master's degree in architecture in 1997 and then worked as an architect in the E & L Architects in Warsaw until 1999 and in the CH 2 architekci in Szczecin from 1999 to 2004 .

In his youth he was active in anti-communist underground organizations. After the political change in Poland in 1989, he became involved in nationalist and extreme right-wing circles. In 1995, according to his own statements, he was the founder of the Szczecin Local Association of All-Polish Youth and in 1996 he became a member of Stronnictwo Narodowe , where he was promoted to a board member.

In 2004 Chruszcz was elected Member of the European Parliament with 40,371 votes . In the self-government elections in 2006 he ran for the office of mayor of Szczecin, but failed with only 1133 (0.83%) votes in the first ballot. After his party failed to get back into the European Parliament in the European elections in 2009 , Chruszcz also left parliament. After Roman Giertych's resignation , he took over the chairmanship of the LPR in October 2007. Chruszcz resigned from his office in June 2008 and returned to his architectural profession after having worked in various parties.

In the 2015 parliamentary election , he ran for the Kukiz'15 movement and received 11,052 votes for a member of the Sejm's 8th electoral term . On October 30, 2017, he resigned from the Kukiz parliamentary group and moved to the Wolni i Solidarni group of members of Kornel Morawiecki .
