The Fighting Solidarność did not accept any reforms of the system, but fought for its fundamental abolition, so in 1989 it did not take part in the round table talks with the communist leaders of Poland. “To die for freedom” was an essential part of the oath to be taken for the members of the Fighting Solidarność.
