Synagogue Pleisweiler

The synagogue in Pleisweiler was built in 1830 at Schäfergasse 2. After the abandonment, the synagogue building was sold and converted into a residential building that still exists today.

synagogue

A prayer room was already available in a private house before 1830. In 1830 the Jewish community built a synagogue at Schäfergasse 2. All that is known about the architecture of the synagogue is that it should have had arched windows. The exact period of use of the synagogue and the time of sale are also not recorded. The buyer completely rebuilt the former building so that no elements of the original synagogue are recognizable today (among other things, the building was increased and an extension was added). The house is still in use today.

Jewish community of Pleisweiler

The Jewish community of Pleisweiler officially belonged to the Jewish community of Klingenmünster until it was officially dissolved in 1901 . From 1901 to the Jewish community in Bergzabern .
