Synagogue (Adelsheim)
The synagogue in Adelsheim , a town in the Neckar-Odenwald district in the north of Baden-Württemberg , was built in 1889/90. The synagogue was located at Tanzbergstrasse and the corner of Untere Austraße 1.
history
The Jewish community of Adelsheim previously owned a synagogue building in Turmgasse that had become too small.
During the November pogroms on November 10, 1938 , the interior of the synagogue was completely destroyed and the Torah scrolls were publicly burned.
The synagogue building became the property of the city of Adelsheim in 1939. From 1947 the Adelsheim youth club was located in the building. The milk collection point and a warehouse of the agricultural cooperative have been located here since the 1950s . In the summer of 1977 the building was demolished. A memorial plaque was placed at the site in 2005.
